Freeview HD channel 227

Describing itself as “Sky Sports News meets TalkSport”, Sports Tonight Live is Britain’s newest sports TV station, broadcasting topical news, analysis, discussion and debate. Presented by Mike ‘Porky’ Parry and Chris Cohen, and featuring a host of guests and pundits, the channel presents four hours of topical sports debate every night and throughout the afternoon at weekends. At all other times, the latest programme is shown on a loop, meaning content is always available.

The channel, which encourages viewers to participate in live debates via Skype, video-call and Twitter, makes full use of the interactive capabilities of ConnectTV’s internet-connected TV system by polling the audience live for instant reaction.

Station owner, former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie, says he had been “wanting to do this for the last four or five years, but the distribution wasn’t there.” Now, thanks to ConnecTV, it is. Sports Tonight Live – the first channel on Freeview to be delivered exclusively via broadband – is available on Freeview HD channel 227 through internet-connected TVs and set top boxes.

Sports Tonight Live is a free-to-air channel.
