Services
Connect TV is the smart, simple and dependable way to connect with this growing audience. It lets you give connected TV viewers what they want: an enhanced TV experience with more choice, more functionality and more content.
Single Channel
The Single Channel service is delivered over IP but looks and works just like a broadcast channel.
- Selecting a Single Channel is straightforward. Simply choose the channel you want from the EPG or enter the channel number on the TV remote.
- A Single Channel is assigned a logical channel number (LCN) and appears in the MHEG services category of the EPG.
- The Single Channel can display Now and Next information, so viewers know what’s on and what’s coming up, plus extended programme information.
- Single Channel is delivered using industry standard protocols so time to market, for a licensed channel, is short.
- Single Channel uses Arqiva’s broadcast heritage to offer a highly resilient service covered by our high availability service level agreements, just like a broadcast channel.
- Single Channel is delivered as an end-to-end service with streaming included within the service.
Channel Portal
The Channel Portal can support between three and nine linear streams which can include a mix of broadcast and IP linear streamed channels. This means you can offer a comprehensive suite of channels to your viewers.
- The Channel Portal can have a dedicated Logical Channel Number (LCN) with a position in the EPG, or can be linked from an existing LCN (via a trigger such as a red button). This means that viewers don’t have to learn a new skill to watch your programmes – it’s just like normal TV.
- Channel Portal uses a modular design that’s easy to navigate and can be tailored to suit your needs. This means that time to market, for licensed channels, is short.
- Channel Portal can support free-to-view or Pay content. This flexibility lets you deliver a range of enhanced revenue-generating services to your viewers.
- The Channel Portal can be delivered with a number of our reporting and analytical packages. These tools help you get a deeper understanding of viewer behaviour so you can target services more effectively and get the most out of your advertising.
- Channel Portal is delivered with a high level of resilience and is covered by our high availability service level agreements, just like a broadcast channel.
- Channel Portal is delivered as an end-to-end service with streaming included as part of the service.
Hybrid Channels
Hybrid Stream is delivered through a combination of DTT hours, IP streaming and industry standard protocols, so time to market for licensed channels is short.
- Hybrid Stream appears as a ‘normal’ broadcast TV channel. Thanks to the automatic switching between DTT and IP streaming you get a near continuous 24/7 TV stream.
- Hybrid Stream uses the same logical channel number (LCN) range as DTT channels, providing viewers with a navigation experience that they are used to.
- Hybrid Stream carries full eight-day service information so viewers know what’s on and what’s coming up. The channel appears just like a DTT channel.
- Hybrid Stream is delivered with a high-level of resilience, covered under high-availability service level agreements, just like a broadcast channel.
- Hybrid Stream is delivered as a complete end-to-end service with DTT and streaming included.
